The GSMA Connected Living mEducation team along with six programme partners – Orange, KT, KDDI, Telefónica, Vodafone and Qualcomm, showcased Mobile Education from Around the World at Learning without Frontiers, Olympia, London, 25th – 26th January 2012.

Learning without Frontiers is an annual conference looking at the impact of new digital technologies on learning, innovation and society,and attracts influential speakers and attendees. Michael O’Hara, GSMA’s Chief Marketing Officer, delivered a keynote presentation on Learning with Mobile.

GSMA showcased its partners’ mEducation products and services in an Experience Dome in the Festival. Live presentations and demonstrations that made the 2 days interesting and interactive included Augmented Reality (Qualcomm/MoGo Mobile Inc and Telefónica); educational robot Kibot2 (KT); Embedded SIM keyboard (Vodafone) that links TVs to mobile networks in India, bringing much needed education tools into the classroom; mEducation tool to access digital content and design apps in a virtual university (Orange/University of Catalonia) and a mobile learning service for the tsunami disaster area in Japan (KDDI/Castalia).

Three panel discussions involving head teachers, teachers, college lecturers, university professors, technology enhanced learning and mEducation experts and developers, academics, researchers and mobile network operators, attracted large audiences.
