GSMA: KDDI au WALLET Case Study Update image

This case study provides an update on how KDDI’s au ID authentication platform is being used across a growing suite of digital commerce services. The paper is relevant for operators who want to learn how digital identity services can be translated from an exclusively online environment to a multi-channel service and how to cultivate customer loyalty with reward schemes for usage. KDDI is using au ID to authenticate consumers accessing its new au WALLET service, which launched in May 2014, consumers simply log into the au WALLET app or website using their au ID to check or top up balances. With more than five million consumers applying for au WALLET in only 112 days after launch, the service has grown rapidly and has the potential to be one of the largest pre-paid card programmes in the region.
