GSMA IMEI Services at Mobile World Congress 2017
The GSMA is the body responsible for issuing TAC (Type Allocation Code) / IMEIs (International Mobile Equipment Identifiers) for mobile devices globally in accordance with 3GPP standards. We also manage a global database of device attributes.
This data then enables GSMA to help devices work better on operator networks and secure a safer pre-used mobile device market for consumers by offering a device history look up service to government, organizations or individuals.
At the IMEI Checkpoint in the GSMA Innovation City, now in Hall 4, you can pick up your personal GSMA IMEI card so if your device was ever lost or stolen, you can ask for it to be blocked on participating operators networks around the world.
