KT is expected to show World’s top level IT technology in WIS this year again.
KT(CEOHwang, www.kt.com) will participate in Korea’s largest IT industry exhibition, called ‘WORLD IT SHOW 2015(WIS 2015), held in Seoul COEX and run an exhibition that has the theme, ‘5G World that is connected to everything, GiGAtopia’.
Its exhibition centers consist of four zones (entrance solution, next generation IT (5G), IoT, GiGAtopia), displaying World’s finest future technologies. In particular, since it is KT sponsored baseball team’s anniversary year and baseball is one of the most popular sports in Korea, KT plans to grab visitors’ attentions by decorating their booths with the concept of baseball so that it can express its future that KT plans to create more easily and with more fun.
Entrance solution’ zone
In WIS 2015, KT’s presentation of GiGAtopia will begin by entering into the entrance solution zone. KT will present its unique technology using its official baseball stadium application, ‘WIZZAP’, which allows reservation by visit much easier and to check the entrance using NFC technologies. Moreover, it shows ‘people counter’ technology that accurately counts the number of visitors and navigate their directions to provide more relevant services for the first time Worldwide.
Next generation IT, 5G’ zone
This zone presents variety of next generation 5G technologies. KT dose not only introduce Giga path that combines WiFi and LTE altogether to have its maximum speed that is four times faster than current LTE, but also the core 5G technology, ‘Milimeterwave’ and ‘Massive MIMO’.
As well, there will also be a hologram illustration that presents the results of 5G technology development. Therefore, visitors will be able to experience World’s leading 5G technology that KT has been preparing for the faster advent of GiGAtopia generation.
IoT (internet of things) zone
IoT zone features its pub-like space that followed almost exact shape of another pub in the baseball stadium and visitors can experience variety of new technologies invented by start-up companies in innovative economy centre in Pangyo city. Iris recognition payment solution that does not require credit card and the V-touch solution that allows free control of TV, lights, temperature, are the main exhibition items. In addition, it introduces ‘GiGAhomecam’ service that enables people to watch what happens at home in real time using smart phones and also uses voice transmitting technology to even take care of pets. Overall, it is expected to present internet of things (Iot) environment in realistic way.
GiGAtopia zone
GiGAtopia zone represents what KT ultimately will accomplish in the future through current giga island project in more realistic way. Also, it is anticipated to convey the message for a successful ICT Olympic in pyeong-chang that would surprise people all over the World in a big screen through various videos as KT is an official partner of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and nationally recognized wide firm.
Furthermore, KT, Korea’s representative IT Company, has been helping start-up companies to give them the opportunities to participate in WIS or MWC in order to expand their stage to the global. This year, it has granted 25% of the exhibition space for start-up companies including 3 companies in innovative economy centre in Pangyo city. Indeed, KT plans to provide some baseball related events and fun activities for visitors.
