Assessing the opportunity to improve energy access: Ncell in Nepal

Ncell, the largest mobile network operator in Nepal, incurs heavy operating expenses at remote sites which are often powered by diesel generators. Heavy energy cost is one of the constraints that limits Ncell’s expansion to cover the remaining 10% of the country’s population. This Feasibility Study explores the potential for Ncell to partner with energy service companies (ESCOs) to reduce its operating costs and help provide affordable electricity to communities around its towers. Further, the Study explores the potential for Ncell to participate in the pay-as-you-go financed purchase opportunity.
