Media Giants Collaborate for Demo of New Music App, Mobile Connect Music

Three of the most renowned brands in the music industry, Sony Music, Universal Music and Warner Music Group (and their playlist brand, Topsify), have united through Kuack Media Group to provide content for a demo of a new mobile-based music streaming app, Mobile Connect Music. Specifically designed to leverage the security and reliability of mobile networks, the app allows users to log in to the app using the mobile industry’s digital identity solution, Mobile Connect.

Offering over 10 million songs and videos, Mobile Connect Music allows people to stream and download an unlimited number of songs on mobile, tablet and PC. The app will be available for download from 27th February during the mobile industry’s most celebrated event, Mobile World Congress.  Those who download during the event will benefit from a free week-long trial.

Mobile Connect Music arrives at a time when revenue from on-demand and paid subscriptions are now showing signs of significant growth and account for a growing portion of the music industry’s overall revenue.

Mobile Connect Music will appeal to customers who are more security conscious or would like to benefit from easier ways to login. The new music service will also be popular amongst those who have a strong relationship with their mobile network operators, particularly in developing economies where the operator-customer bond is notoriously strong and the streaming and paid subscription market has such huge potential growth.

The app can be download via the accompanying QR and will be fully showcased inside Mobile World Congress’ GSMA Innovation City.
