Operators gather to celebrate new stage of Mobile Connect

One of talking points of Mobile World Congress was the announcement that Mobile Connect, the mobile-based digital identity solution, is now available to 2 billion consumers globally. In recognition of this achievement, the GSMA hosted an award ceremony for Mobile Connect’s 34 ‘founding’ operators on Monday 22 February.

The event was hosted by the GSMA’s Head of Programme Services, Steve Martineau, with new GSMA Director General, Mats Granryd giving a powerful speech underlining the huge potential Mobile Connect has to transform digital services. Spoken word poet, Marshal Jones also illustrated the power of Mobile Connect in verse.
