'It’s just there, it just works'
Bring the power of Rich Communications to your consumers
RCS-e (Rich Communication Suite-enhanced) is the next wave in personal mobile communications. For consumers, it will deliver an experience beyond voice and SMS by providing them with instant messaging or chat, live video sharing and file transfer across any device, on any network, with anyone in their mobile address book. RCS-e taps into how your consumers are already sharing their life moments with each other.
For operators, RCS-e is a compelling business proposition, offering new ways to use existing assets and capabilities to deliver high quality and innovative communications services. In doing so, they will be strengthening their relationship with their customers and harnessing further revenue opportunities from advanced personal communications.
The Rich Communication Services Project is an industry initiative managed by the GSMA. The project is focused on ensuring the success of RCS-e and all the major device OEMs are fully engaged.
‘It’s just there, it just works’
Like voice and SMS, RCS-e will ‘just be there’. Service access will be intuitive and discovery will be automatic. Native to the device – ‘it’s just there’ – it will give users easy access to enriched services quickly and easily. How will it ‘just work’? - simply by selecting from the multimedia capabilities in chat, file transfer or video share that are shown for each of the user’s contacts.
Already moving with considerable momentum, RCS-e capability will be in OEM devices in early 2012. A globally recognisable Service Mark will offer users the assurance that the proposition of ‘It’s just there, it just works’ will be delivered.
Exploit the strengths of the GSM Standard
RCS-e builds on the universal success of the GSM standard and is an opportunity for operators to re-invigorate and expand their product and service portfolios. It builds on the unique core operator proposition of ubiquity, reliability and reach and, importantly, will help an operator retain their role as “the communications provider of choice” in the eyes of the customer.
