In January 2015, the GSMA coordinated with local member operators in Peru to advise the government on the importance of establishing a clear process for the migration of current users from the 700MHz band before allocation to mobile operators. On February 19th, the Peruvian Ministry of Transport and Communications asked PROINVERSIÓN, the private investment promotion agency, to initiate a public consultation for the upcoming allocation of the 700MHz band.
