{"id":4816,"date":"2019-09-16T09:16:36","date_gmt":"2019-09-16T08:16:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gsma.com\/about-us\/regions\/africa\/?p=4816"},"modified":"2019-10-24T10:00:54","modified_gmt":"2019-10-24T09:00:54","slug":"united-nations-economic-commission-for-africa-uneca-annual-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gsma.com\/about-us\/regions\/africa\/united-nations-economic-commission-for-africa-uneca-annual-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"United Nations Economic Commission for Central Africa (UNECA) Annual Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Intergovernmental Committee of Senior Officials and Experts (ICE\u2019s) 35th session took place in Malabo from 23 to 27 September 2019 at the invitation of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) Central Africa office in Yaound\u00e9, Cameroon with the theme being &#8216;\u2019Digital Transformations and Economic Diversification in Central Africa: Issues, Challenges, and Opportunities.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The main objective of this meeting was to review the work completed during the past year and define the work plan for the coming one. This planning exercise was to be guided by discussions on the role of the digital economy in the economic diversification strategies in Central Africa.
