Therefore the GSMA, alongside our mobile operator members, is calling for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>A rebalancing of the digital ecosystem by ensuring<strong>&nbsp;equivalent rules for all service providers<\/strong>, levelling the playing field and promoting healthy competition across the digital value chain by adopting a mechanism to ensure swift resolution of eventual disputes between parties in the internet ecosystem.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A&nbsp;<strong>re-evaluation of the existing regulatory framework&nbsp;<\/strong>that was conceived 20-30 years ago, and an update to the policy objectives and principles to match today\u2019s market realities and challenges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A more long-term view on investment and innovation effects that will allow European telecom operators to build scale&nbsp;<strong>in-market consolidation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The establishment of a<strong>&nbsp;pro-investment approach to EU spectrum policy<\/strong>, including the adoption of best practices to achieve a more predictable and harmonised approach to spectrum auctions, licensing costs, the prolongation of licences, and the identification of future bands.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The extension of circular economy principles to network equipment and&nbsp;<strong>the EU taxonomy for green investment in electronic communication networks<\/strong>, based on robust metrics.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-for-more-information-please-contact\">For more information please contact:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n            <div class=\"people colour\" id=\"people-15bb1e74\"  data-ids=\"13872\"   data-layout=\"\"><\/div>\n        \n<script>\n    window.enableSaveBreadcrumb = true;\n    window.addEventListener(\"load\", function(){\n      const people_list = new People_List();\n      people_list.init(\"people-15bb1e74\");\n      \/\/console.log(list);\n    });\n<\/script>\n    \n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"mailto:pfako@gsma.com\">pfako@gsma.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The European members of the GSMA welcome the European Commission\u2019s White Paper \u2018How to master Europe\u2019s digital infrastructure needs?\u2019, which is an important first step towardsresetting the regulatory framework for telecommunications and re-energising the European telco sector as an engine of competitiveness and prosperity.
