Interconnect security and SS7, persistent threats and advanced malware, intelligence applied to cyber security and IoT security were some of the main topics addressed at the key meeting for the Latin American and global cyber security community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis meeting gave us an opportunity to exchange information, facts and highly valuable tools for mobile operators in Latin America and digital ecosystem companies. Forums like this push back the frontier of industry knowledge and create more secure environments with effects that flow on to consumers, who benefit from a more reliable mobile technology user experience,\u201d said Luis Miguel Hurtado, Corporate Head of Fraud Prevention, Telefonica, and deputy chair of the SEGF group.<\/p>\n<p>Key topics of the SEGF meeting included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Device theft and global strategy to address this issue<\/li>\n<li>Interconnect security<\/li>\n<li>Sources of SS7 attacks<\/li>\n<li>Cyberthreats in Telcos<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) and Advanced Malware<\/li>\n<li>Intelligence applied to cyber security<\/li>\n<li>IoT Security<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the first time, the FASG meeting included the Latam Summit, the only global group session held in Spanish. \u201cHaving the chance to address topics with colleagues from every continent makes us realise that operators in Latin America are experiencing the same problems as the rest of the world and we\u2019re not lagging behind in key issues like information security and fraud,\u201d said Lucas Gallitto, Public Policy Director, GSMA Latin America.<\/p>\n<p>The next meeting of SEGF Working Group experts will be held during GSMA M360 Latin America 2017, which will be on from 31 October to 2 November in Bogot\u00e1,
