According to the World Health Organization, annual global spending on healthcare was set to exceed $10 trillion in 2020, averaging 10% of GDP in
countries that are part of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), an intergovernmental economic group with 37 member countries. The characteristics of healthcare industry and challenges are:

  • The global healthcare sector is served by a vast and complex supply chain
  • Healthcare services are heavily regulated, operating close alignment with regulatory bodies, governments and environmental organizations
  • The Covid-19 pandemic impacts to the existing healthcare system and resources

Technology enable digital transformation, which is anticipated to grow significantly in the coming years. Frost & Sullivan forecasts that it will grow from $147 billion in 2019 to $235 billion in 2023.

Mr. Huynh has over 15-years of experience from doing research and development at The World Bank Group, modeling and simulation of complex systems with the largest biometric system in the world, to business process modeling of mission critical systems in various projects in the U.S. and now DX

After moving to Hanoi in 2019, he took on a role in FPT Software during Covid19 Pandemic in a Digital Transformation role working on various projects in Advance Analytics and solutions to address the need to develop of People, Process, and Technology. He now works on the applying the DX Garage framework to various projects to develop ideas to a Minimal Viable Product (MVP) in a systematic way. He also is a product owner in offering a service that lowers the barrier to adopt advance analytics by providing the data platform and the resources all in one package for customers who do not have the resources to do analytics projects.

Manfred Braun

Business Development Manager – Enterprise 5G (Central Europe), Fujitsu

Before he started his career as Principal Consultant and Business Developer at Fujitsu, Manfred studied Electronic Engineering and Business Administration and worked more than 20 years as Manager at Development and Operations for technology companies like G&D, Telefonica and Wirecard at the Payment and Mobile Operator Industry. In his actual role at Fujitsu, he supports the Sales and Engineering Team to setup Network and Telco solution at the CE Market based on Fujitsu’s long time experience with these Technologies at Asia and Americas.

Dr Ngai Tseung Cheung

Head of Information Technology & Health Informatics, Hospital Authority

NT Cheung is the Head of Information Technology & Health Informatics of the Hospital Authority (HA) and also the Consultant for eHealth for the Hong Kong Government. He has taken HA from a virtual “green fields” site to today’s situation where every patient has a complete interoperable electronic patient record which can be accessed by his/her clinical carers in any of the 43 hospitals and 120+ clinics of the HA. The HA’s Clinical Management System (CMS) has been integrated into all the major care delivery process, providing decision support, workflow enablement, and informs the management and planning functions at all levels. His current work focuses on innovation and digitization to ensure the sustainability of healthcare in Hong Kong, with work streams including the next generation of the Hospital Authority’s Clinical Management System (CMS), HA’s single integrated patient app (HA Go) with integrated teleHealth, clinical AI and the Smart Hospital. Together these will enable new enhanced service delivery models in the post-COVID era, with patient-centric personalised care, advanced data driven decision support and risk prediction and enhanced clinical communications and operations.

He also works with the Government to operate and further develop the territory-wide Electronic Health Record Sharing System (eHRSS) and the wider eHealth ecosystem in Hong Kong. The eHRSS provides a standards-based, detailed patient record reaching across nearly 2000 provider organizations in the public and private healthcare sectors.

NT is active in the informatics research and education communities, and is a frequent speaker at international conferences. He holds a medical degree from the University of Sydney and a Master’s degree in computing science from Imperial College, London

Terence Wong

Market Development Director, Head of APAC 5G Industry & IoT Community, APAC, GSMA

Terence serves as the Market Development Director at APAC Technology team in GSMA. The key focus is on 5G, IoT, eSIM. He establishes the APAC IoT partnership programme and the APAC 5G Industry Community that accelerates the 5G and IoT ecosystem development and innovation in the APAC region. The IoT partnership programme accumulates 60+ MNOs, 500+ innovators and ecosystem members in 20+ APAC countries, jointly drive the digital transformation in various sector including manufacturing, transportation, logistics & port, healthcare, smarty city, agriculture and environment protection etc.

Worked for IT/Telco industry for over twenty years, Terence has strong and broad experiences in telecom industries on infrastructure, product development and management, consultancy, sales and marketing. He has worked for multinational companies such as Fujitsu, Nokia, and served as the architect, consultant, product lead and pre-sales head of BSS/OSS in the Asia region.

Terence has Bachelor of Engineering (Electronic Engineering) in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Master of Business Administration (Information Technology Management) in Hong Kong Polytechnics University, previously certified as Project Management Professional (Project Management Institute).

Dr. Chelsea Elizabeth Samson

Chief Business and Medical Affairs Officer, HealthNow

Dr. Chelsea Elizabeth Samson is the Chief Business and Medical Affairs Officer of HealthNow, a joint venture between AC Health (Ayala Corporation’s healthcare arm) and 917Ventures (Globe Telecom’s corporate incubator). HealthNow is an all-in-one health app that serves as the
needed link between Filipinos and innovative healthcare solutions amid the new normal. Its goal is to promote continuity of care as a connected journey and break traditional silos in the industry.

Concurrently, she chairs the PELI-Institutional Review Board – the first-in-the-country Level-3 specialty center ethics review board. Prior to her joining Ayala Health, Chelsea was the Head of Medical Services in Centuria Medical Makati, a pioneering medical facility that has curated the best outpatient medical brands in the Philippines.

Alongside her primary functions, she pursues civic advocacies as a brand ambassador of Kandama indigenous weaves and as a Global Shaper under the World Economic Forum. She also pursues creative expression through painting and poetry for which she was nominated for the Pushcart Prize in 2021. Dr. Samson earned her MD-MBA from the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health and is also a graduate of Harvard Medical School under its Healthcare Leadership Program.

David Mohally

Business Innovation Lab Leader (SPO Lab), Huawei

David has over 25 years experience in the Telecommunications sector working with many of the leading IT and Telco vendors including Huawei, IBM, Lucent and Ericsson. Currently working as Business Innovation lab leader focused on Business Research (SPO Lab) within Huawei, he is tasked with looking at how the Telco industry will evolve in the coming years. He is working closely with leading international business schools to develop methodologies for exploring future Telco opportunities and business models.

David has rich project practice experience in the innovation field of Telcos and vertical industries, and has successfully cooperated with Tier1 in Western Europe and the Middle East on vertical industries and digital transformation. He has extensive experience across product management, business model design, use case design, solution design, and customer experience management.
