ASIA PACIFIC
NEWSLETTER JANUARY 2019 |
| | |
Happy New Year and welcome to the final year in this decade. The mass adoption of mobile broadband has laid the foundation for changes in various sectors of the economy. The decade began with the launch of 4G in 2010 and will close with the launch of 5G which is set to bring in a new era of change and innovation. Although a lot has been said about its low latency and ultra-fast speed, what is distinctive about 5G is how everything in the world will communicate together in the Internet of Things.
MWC19 Barcelona will focus on this new era of “intelligent connectivity”. Its key themes including AI, Industry 4.0, disruptive innovation, digital wellness, and digital trust, which is a unique opportunity for you to experience the innovations and prepare for business challenges ahead.
As this new era begins, I look forward to greater engagement between GSMA, members and the ecosystem in the coming year and wish you all the best for 2019.
