Seminar: What a #BetterFuture means for business today

Mobile is transforming the world in a way no other industry can. The #BetterFuture seminar began with keynotes from Alison Smale, Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications at the UN Department of Global Communications, and Amina Mohamed, Deputy Secretary-General of the UN. In the Case For Change and Big Data for Social Good panel discussions, this seminar explored how the mobile industry is building a better future for people and communities everywhere through innovation and partnerships conducive to meaningful impact. In his keynote, Safaricom’s Stephen Chege also explored how the private sector can continue to incorporate and promote sustainable business practices benefiting not only our societies but their own business.

The #BetterFuture Dome

For the first time, MWC visitors entered the #BetterFuture Dome – an immersive 360 video experience showcasing the incredible impact of mobile on people’s lives.

The SDGs in Action app

The SDGs in Action app raises awareness about the Goals, gives the latest news and updates on progress towards the Goals from the GSMA and our partners, and allows users to take their own actions.
