World Economic Forum – Davos 2018
The GSMA is proud to partnered with the UN Foundation and the UN Department for Public Information to bring the SDG Live Zone to Davos for a second time. The SDG Live Zone welcomed journalists, celebrities, high-level delegates and media influencers to generate discussion on the impact of innovation on the SDGs and engage the global online community during the World Economic Forum. Broadcasting live from the heart of Davos during 23-25 January, #SDGLive shared panel discussions, interviews and digital content. Sustainable Impact Hub
In light of the official Davos 2018 theme ‘Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World’, humanitarian and development organisations have come together behind a joint theme for this year’s event – Leave no one behind: Partnering for impact. To foster new partnerships towards the UN SDGs, sponsoring partners have created a collaborative space open to event attendees. The Sustainable Impact Hub will provide a joint venue to be used as a working base for bilateral meetings and as a ‘drop-in centre’, and provide a public demonstration of partnerships across humanitarian and development issues. The GSMA is a partner, along with the ICRC, IOM, OCHA, UN Women, UNDP, UNHCR, UNICEF, WFP, the World Bank, the Global Humanitarian Lab, the Global Alliance for Humanitarian Innovation and the Connecting Business initiative, among others.
