End: Wednesday 31 March 2021

With the COVID-19 pandemic spreading across the globe, governments seek innovative and dynamic solutions to make the right decisions at the right time, to save lives and minimise economic impact. Mobile operators are in a unique position to add value with many having developed capabilities to provide tools driven by aggregated and anonymised mobile data insights on population movements within countries. These tools and services support decision making for significant challenges including health epidemics, climate action and disaster preparedness.

The seventh instalment of the AI4I webinar series, features in-country support teams at GSMA, alongside Dr Eric Adja, from the French-speaking Agency for Artificial Intelligence (AFRIA), and Popaul Punza, Technical secretariat for the response against COVID-19 in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). These in-country leaders spotlight the projects in Benin & DRC, providing their perspective on the value of mobile big data analytics tools to support Covid-19 response measures. The webinar also provides a demonstration of the dashboard developed for use in DRC.

The AI for Impact Webinar Series covers key topics on mobile big data analytics, and features a variety of public and private sector speakers. The series showcases case studies from across the globe and provides resources for further learning and engagement. The mobile industry is committed to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and creating a better future for all.
