5G Innovation and Investment Group (5G IN)

GSMA 5G IN (5G Innovation and Investment Group) aims to help grow and scale the rapidly expanding innovation communities that leverage 5G and adjacent digital technologies.

This project involves a diverse portfolio of partners including mobile operators, investors, and ecosystem stakeholders. With GSMA Foundry, it has transformed its experiences into a global partnership framework that would expand 5G IN’s reach into wider ecosystems across different innovation hubs, and consequently in 2022 formed a new collaboration with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park and Deutsche Telekom to launch a joint 5G IN Digital Ecosystem Innovation Centre.

5G IN brings together a unique combination of capabilities from the mobile industry, leading investment organizations and ecosystem stakeholders to discover high-quality start-ups and scale-ups in AI, IoT, edge computing, cloud computing, big data, 5G infrastructure, security, chipset, AR/VR/XR, Fintech and vertical applications, and work with them to propel the commercialization of 5G applications.
