Operators have recently announced some significant new investments to foster the development of 5G use cases to benefit enterprises and drive economic development. Orange has announced the expansion of its 5G Labs initiative in Europe, with a plan to build six new labs in France and one in Romania. Meanwhile, in Southeast Asia, NTT Docomo will lead an international consortium to develop enterprise 5G capabilities in Thailand, with a view to further expansion across the region.
Keen to leverage 5G connectivity to build new enterprise use cases, operators are playing their part in enabling Industry 4.0. The 5G labs in Europe and Asia will help drive productivity gains for businesses in the regions, and demonstrate how mobile operators and ecosystem players can come together to play a leadership role as facilitators of digital transformation for businesses.
