Future Networks Conference

5G, RCS & Messaging as a Platform

Venue: Centro de Convenciones Gonzalo Jiménez De Quesada located at Cl. 26 #13a-10, Bogotá, Colombia.

Room: Main Conference.

The Future Networks programme will take the main conference stage, together with 3Cinteractive, Google and Mobile Network Operators, to discuss the commercial potential of RCS and A2P Messaging.

Whilst LTE gets a stronger foothold in the region, the industry across the globe has shifted to start developing, trialling and hypothesising about 5G. The inevitable question for Latin America remains in how relevant this new technology can be in the different countries. How can operators leverage existing 4G network technology, to build out 5G, in what time scale and what technologies are involved?

Operators are rolling out Rich Communication Services (RCS) globally, opening up an A2P RCS business worth an estimated $74bn* by 2021.   Millions of brands, who already use SMS as a communications channel, are now creating a much richer compelling experience for their consumers.  Hear from GSMA, Operators, Mobile Marketing companies and Technology Providers how this transformation is taking place.

  • David O’Byrne, IP Communications Project Director , GSMA
  • Jeff Michaud, VP of Sales at 3Cinteractive
  • Silvio Pegado, Head of Business Development Latam, Google
