Paul Schonewald

Paul Schonewald

Paul joined the GSMA in January 2017 and is responsible for the delivery of Marketing activities within the Future Networks programme. A vital programme of the GSMA’s strategic focus, delivering industry scale for IP Communications and 5G while considering Network Economic challenges for the Mobile industry as it transitions to a 5G Era.

Paul has over 20 years’ experience in the Mobile industry within operator and service provider environments across seven different countries, having launched many niche mobile propositions in these markets.

Andrew Milne

Andrew Milne

Andrew started his marketing career in telecommunications at EE and Virgin Media before joining the GSMA in 2017. With a natural interest and passion in new technologies, Andrew has focused on growing the 5G ecosystem within the GSMA through initiatives such as the Cloud XR Forum, Beta Labs and 5G Operator Platform groups.

In his time at the GSMA, Andrew has led the Future Networks strategic video-first marketing approach, creating and editing content for our diverse global audiences.

 

Kiran Bachra

Kiran Bachra

Kiran joined the GSMA in February 2019 and is responsible for marketing communications within the Future Networks programme.

Kiran has over ten years’ experience in marketing.  She has delivering integrated campaigns (both digital & offline) including lead generation, product launches, brand awareness campaigns, maximising KPI’s and ROI results across various sectors including manufacturing, real estate, travel and start-ups.

Sarah joined the GSMA in June 2019, experienced in Digital Marketing. Sarah holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Nottingham Business School and was awarded the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Award for Best Overall Performance by a Final Year Student.

Henry Calvert

Henry Calvert

Henry joined the GSMA in December 2013, and is responsible for the delivery of the Future Networks programme. A key programme of the GSMA’s strategic focus, to deliver industry scale for IP Communications and 5G, whilst considering Network Economic challenges for the Mobile industry as it transitions to a 5G Era.

Previously he worked for the SingTel Group and has over 20 years’ experience in the telecommunications sector, both in Networks and IT portfolios and has been involved in the deployment of mobile networks in over 10 operations across 10 different countries. Henry designed and built Optus’ 3G + LTE mobile network, all IP network and managed the product development transformation.  He was the creator and board member of the network sharing Joint Venture between SingTel Optus and Vodafone Networks Pty Ltd (Australia).

Henry has been a board member and Chair of the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association (AMTA) and previously held an Executive Management Committee position in the GSMA.

Michele Zarri

Michele Zarri is a Technical Director at the GSMA where he works on advanced technologies and 5G. Michele graduated in telecommunications engineering at University of Pisa (Italy) and completed his studies at King’s College of London (UK).

Before joining the GSMA, Michele worked for Deutsche Telekom where he accrued more than 15 years of experience in the standardisation of mobile technologies. Michele served as chairman of working groups both in 3GPP and GSMA.

Faisal Zia

Faisal Zia is responsible for Network Economics, part of Future Networks programme at the GSMA which is assessing innovation delivering CapEx and OpEx savings in the lead up to the 5G era with a particular focus on energy efficiency, backhaul optimisation and new applications in infrastructure sharing.

Faisal is a project and programme specialist with extensive experience in tech and telecom commercial and technical projects which encompass emerging technology, 5G, technology strategy to new agile operating models.

Niko Alexiadis

Niko has been with the GSMA for 5 years, working across several technical and commercial projects on Future Networks, RCS, and Mobile Money. He has been working with operators across the globe on key industry issues. On RCS he has been convening the industry on topics like sender verification and charging models.
