GSMA Foundry Excellence Awards 2024: Meet our judges
We’re excited to kick off the annual GSMA Foundry Excellence Awards 2024! This event is all about celebrating the most innovative projects that have positively impacted the telecommunications world in the last 12 months.
We would like to introduce you to an important part of this recognition process: our judges! They have an eye for innovation and a knack for picking out the best projects that shine.
Every year, they dive into a pool of projects, looking for the ones that tick all the right boxes. They’re on the hunt for the unique qualities and extraordinary achievements that make these projects stand out from the crowd.

David Pringle
A former business journalist, David Pringle is a London-based analyst, writer and editor working with organisations in the telecoms, media and technology sectors. Between 2000 and 2005, David was the European technology and telecommunications correspondent for The Wall Street Journal covering Vodafone, Nokia, Ericsson, British Telecom and other major multinationals. He has also served as deputy editor of Information Strategy, a pan-European title owned by The Economist Group.
Noaa Barak
Noaa oversees strategy and engagement at 4YFN, leading its flagship innovation programmes for over 7 years now. She had a key role in growing 4YFN’s investor community into a thriving international community with over 1,000 members.
A native of Neot Hakikar, Israel, Noaa holds an MBA and an MSC in Brain and Cognition. Noaa is passionate about the growth and great ideas and can talk to you about growing dates in the desert, synthetic spider silk in petri dishes and startups in innovation hubs.
Jim Morrish
Jim Morrish is a Founding Partner of Transforma Insights. He is a respected Digital Transformation, Internet of Things, and Artificial Intelligence industry expert, with over 25 years experience of in strategy consulting, operations management and telecoms research. Jim is responsible for the addition of the term Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) networking to the lexicon of the IoT and is a co-author of the Ignite|IoT project management framework for IoT and the accompanying book entitled “Enterprise IoT“
Submit your project
The submissions for the GSMA Foundry Excellence Award at MWC Barcelona 2024 are now closed. If you have submitted your project already, please make sure to complete it before 30 November 2023, in order to be eligible for the Awards. Successful submissions must:
- Include an element of collaboration
- Have been delivered in under 12 months
- Address / solve a real-life challenge
- Show evidence of measurable results/impact on completion
