This includes banking, payment and emergency services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n            <div class=\"orgs\" id=\"orgs-72dc1cf3\"  data-ids=\"3784,3783\" data-display=\"\" data-show-names=\"false\"><\/div>\n        \n<script>\n    window.addEventListener(\"load\", function(){\n      const orgs_list = new Orgs_List();\n      orgs_list.init(\"orgs-72dc1cf3\");\n    });\n<\/script>\n    \n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-overview\">Overview<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pakistan sits in a region where security threats are faced on a regular basis, and telecommunication operators are frequently asked to shut down communications \u2013 whether that\u2019s mobile networks in specific areas, Internet access, or particular mobile applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Temporary Internet disruptions have a major impact on business. In 2020 alone there were at least 155 internet shutdown incidents around the world, in 29 countries (Source: Access Now and the #KeepItOn Coalition), and the negative impact of shutdowns was deepened during the COVID-19 pandemic.
