The GSMA has developed Connected Communities, an initiative to bring MNOs and industry together to innovate. Get involved in our communities, participate in thought-leadership, share knowledge and insights, network with the broader ecosystem and help us drive digital change.
By fostering collaboration and facilitating innovative problem-solving, these communities provide a robust network to forge transformative partnerships and accelerate innovation pipelines. Many of these forums and communities comprise of Sector Members as well as Operator and Industry Members and GSMA Activity Contributors (see our member directory).
Connected Industries
Connected Manufacturing and Production
The GSMA Manufacturing and Production Community drives industrial transformation by uniting stakeholders to accelerate the adoption of 5G, AI and other digital technologies across manufacturing, mining, logistics and other sectors, fostering collaboration to develop and deploy safer, more efficient, and sustainable operations. By joining, members gain access to a unique network focused on taking the lead in key issues and driving Industry 4.0.
The mobile ecosystem is central to fintech and commerce. GSMA members and fintech partners collaborate to explore common interests, key issues, and share insights and case studies. They create new opportunities and drive innovative projects. The GSMA Connected Fintech and Commerce forum leads discussions, monitors fintech developments, and provides collaboration opportunities to build and deploy new solutions. This community prioritises supporting partners in exploring common interests, monitoring insights, and driving innovation.
The GSMA Smart Mobility community focuses on how mobile operators’ services and capabilities can enhance smart mobility. This includes improving efficiency and sustainability by optimising routes, managing traffic, reducing delays and congestion, and lowering fuel and energy consumption, which in turn reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
Additionally, the community aims to enhance the customer experience by utilising real-time information, payments, on-demand services, and overall connectivity throughout the journey. Safety is also a key focus, with real-time data from sensors and cameras providing better traffic information and updates on accidents, weather, and road works to all stakeholders.
The GSMA 5G IoT Community accelerates IoT growth through industry collaboration, optimised networks, and key enablers, offering resources, news and updates on global events shaping the connected future.
Discover how we bring the work of the GSMA IoT Community to live through our extensive resource library, industry news from our members, and updates on key global events shaping the IoT landscape.
The GSMA supports its members with their identity initiatives as they pursue new business growth opportunities and the digital transformation of their operations.
The Identity and Data Community enables collaboration across the ecosystem, sharing best practices and driving mobile-led identity solutions to support digital transformation and unlock new business opportunities.
GSMA’s 5G Futures Community aims to bring together international ecosystem participants in our mission to share the benefits and opportunities of 5G wireless technologies while also serving as a channel for identifying and addressing real-world challenges from the global market to 5G network adoption, deployment, interoperability and development. Together, we accelerate change in the way we live and do business, bridging 5G to an intelligent future and opening-up mobile network capabilities to the world. The community covers three key pillars of focus; 5G Standalone, 5G-Advanced, Complete 5G.
The Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) Community unites mobile and satellite technologies, driving collaboration through the GSMA Foundry to integrate satellite communications with 5G and future 6G networks for real-world innovation.
