Mobile Meetings Series: Data economy – Building a competitive framework for the benefit of European consumers

Start: Thursday 1 February 2018

End: Thursday 1 February 2018

Venue: New GSMA Europe office

Location: Regent Park, Boulevard du Régent 35, 1000 Brussels, Belgium

The intersections between competition, data protection and consumer policy are particularly significant in the digital economy and, in particular, in data-driven markets.
The use of data by firms for the development of products and services has the potential to generate substantial efficiencies and productivity gains; therefore, there is a need to explore the implications on competition authorities’ work and on whether competition law can address the arising issues from data collection and usage.

During the event, high-level policy makers and stakeholders will discuss about how the current competition law framework should analyse transactions and behaviors in data-driven markets.

This event is by invitation-only and will gather 20 selected key decision-makers and experts on the topic.
