More than a new generation of technologies, 5G denotes a new era in which connectivity will become fluid and flexible. 5G-optomised services such as tactile internet, virtual/ augmented reality, remote control of vehicles and robots all have the potential to radically change and improve the lives of consumers across the globe.
Europe has the potential to become the leader in 5G. To ensure Europe’s citizens and businesses reap the maximum benefits of the digital mobile revolution, Europe requires fast, secure and ubiquitous communication networks that will drive growth, jobs and competitiveness.

On Thursday 17 November, the GSMA will organize a breakfast debate from 08:00 to 09:30 on the topic in the European Parliament in Brussels.The session will include contributions from industry experts and EU Institution representatives.
