Start: Tuesday 4 February 2020 8:30 am

End: Tuesday 4 February 2020 10:15 pm

Venue: GSMA Europe Office

Location: Regent Park-1st Floor, Boulevard du Régent 35, 1000 Brussels, Belgium

In 2020, the majority of mobile operators in Europe are expected to begin the roll out of 5G networks, whose high performance will be capable of driving significant economic benefits. However, as we enter this new era for mobile networks and digital infrastructures, the central question nonetheless remains: which market structure is better suited for supporting high performance?

To answer this question, the GSMA commissioned an in-depth, comprehensive analysis of how Europe’s mobile networks performed in the 4G era and the role played by market structure in delivering this performance. The report “Mobile market structure and performance in Europe: Lessons from the 4G era” will be presented by its authors at the upcoming GSMA Mobile Meetings Series roundtable for a group of 20 selected stakeholders, including EU decision-makers and industry experts. The event will aim to explore the results of the report as well as the issues arising from it. In particular, the roundtable will explore the lessons that can be learned from the 4G era to help shape public policies to foster Europe’s leadership in 5G in the years to come.
