Mobile identity: the power of mobile to support safe and secure access to digitised services

Mobile phones are increasingly becoming the way in which citizens access a variety of digitised services – from mobile banking to healthcare and education. Mobile identity services allow citizens to verify and authenticate themselves remotely in order to easily access these services while ensuring confidential information is kept safe.

From proving one’s age online to registering birth/life events with local authorities, mobile identities can transform the provision of services for businesses, governments and citizens.

The GSMA event will showcase the benefits and opportunities of the mobile identity in the context of ongoing discussions at EU level on electronic identification, authentication and signatures. Bringing together representatives from the GSMA, policymakers and other stakeholders, the event will discuss the necessary regulatory framework for enabling trust and broader use of the mobile identity.
