The economic crisis has greatly impacted on today’s youth with approximately 73 million unemployed young people worldwide. Throughout the world, the crisis of youth unemployment is due to a range of issues from lack of opportunities and contacts, to skills mismatch, lack of experience, and economic factors. However, there is a clear desire for employment and many unemployed youth are looking for solutions to overcome the challenges in the current job market.

Mobile penetration is high amongst young people in most countries and mobile employment services could provide numerous solutions to help the unemployed youth to develop skills, discover employment opportunities and make contacts, and to facilitate employment. Mobile employment services such as job search tools and skills and language training can provide significant support to young people.
