GSMA Response to the Draft Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI image

The GSMA supports the European Commission’s endeavour to maximise the benefits of artificial
intelligence (AI) while minimising the risks to individuals and communities, and appreciates the
opportunity to comment on the Commission’s new draft ethics guidelines. We support the view that
the development and deployment of AI systems should respect fundamental human rights and
applicable regulation, as well as principles and values ensuring an ‘ethical purpose’. A growing
number of GSMA members have already committed to responsible development of AI technologies.
