Identity and Data Community Meeting #9: Identity Verification

Identity and Data Community Meeting #9: Identity Verification

Start: Monday 14 November 2022 14:00

End: Monday 14 November 2022 15:00

Venue: Online

Join us on Monday, 14 November 2022 from 14:00 – 15:00 (GMT) to hear about identity verification and consider implications for the mobile industry.

Use cases for identity verification range widely across verticals, whether online or in person. Mobile Driving Licences and identity proofing solutions enable identity verification. Mobile identity solutions may enrich them to better support verticals.

Mobile Driving Licence implementations are gathering pace, in an effort to digitise existing driving licence cards and paper documents for presentation and verification on mobile handsets. The session will include an overview of the technology and the state of the market.

Complementing this, identity proofing solutions help ensure remotely that people are who they claim to be. This is particularly crucial for businesses and governments during user onboarding. Yet they face challenges to fight ever evolving fraud, including synthetic identity fraud.

During our session a brief technology overview of identity proofing will set the scene before we explore new opportunities available to the industry, including mobile identity solutions that can augment identity proofing in the fight against identity fraud. Combining identity proofing and mobile authentication could secure highly sensitive transactions in the public sector, healthcare and financial verticals.
