As part of the Security Summit sponsored by Palo Alto Networks and Kaspersky, our team hosted the Identity & Data – Monetising Identity Innovations session at MWC22 Barcelona on Tuesday 1 March 2022.

The pandemic has accelerated digital transformation across all industries. With this, new challenges have arisen in maintaining consumer trust, service experience and ensuring security. Mobile operators can unlock successful digital transformation through secure, trusted, and convenient identity solutions.

ANT Group, SK Telecom and TeleSign discussed the latest identity innovations for the operator business and explored monetisation opportunities including:

  • How are mobile operators enhancing their identity intelligence and setup
  • The role of digital onboarding, biometrics, machine learning, risk scoring
  • Ways to adapt to new paradigms such as decentralised identity
  • How new identity solutions benefit industry verticals

Richard Cockle

Head of IoT, Identity and Big Data, GSMA

Richard heads an international team at the GSMA and is responsible for developing new innovative products and services beyond the core network in IoT, Identity and Big Data for the mobile ecosystem

As the key lead for GSMA engagements in the vertical industries, specifically; FinTech, Automotive, Aviation and Manufacturing, Richard has recently launched the GSMA Innovation Foundry, creating a collaborative platform for GSMA members and partners to work together on the major challenges facing the industry. 

In addition, Richard is responsible for the GSMA’s Strategy Group which regularly convenes to address strategic topics within the industry and supports the GSMA Board. 

Inchang Oh

Blockchain & Authentication Platform Project Manager, SK Telecom

Inchang Oh is a project manager in the blockchain and authentication platform development team in SK Telecom.

Mr Oh joined SK Telecom in 2003, Since then, he has worked as a project manager and R&D strategist in mobile communication R&D and mobile B2B businesses such as the blockchain, IoT, mobile device platform and private 4G network.

Mr Oh’s recent R&D initiatives focus on the application of Decentralized ID in mobile communication services to enhance security and privacy in the digital transformation environment.

Mr Oh has a master’s degree in Information Processing from Sogang University. He acquired a professional engineer in computer engineering and PMP certificate.

Guillaume Bourcy

Vice President, Data and Identity Solutions, TeleSign

Telco and SaaS veteran, Guillaume is the former founder of a Belgian public company’ spin-off into the U.S with 15+ years of experience in Telecommunications, Identity and Security. As an executive at TeleSign he is leading the Data and Identity roadmap and vision – heading teams responsible for Data Science, Identity Products, and Technology Partnerships.

Guillaume lives in Los Angeles, California where he aspires to live in full harmony following the path of his spiritual mentor: JCVD

Zhang Yi

Senior Solution Architect, Ant Group Singapore

Zhang Yi is a Senior Solution Architect at Ant Group Singapore. He delivers Ant Group’s home-grown AI-based solutions to Asia financial institutions, fintech and telco companies, helping them to be more compliant and protected. Zhang Yi has more than 10 years of experience in the field of identity proofing, biometrics, security, anti-fraud management and AML. As an MBA graduate from the National University of Singapore, Zhang Yi endeavours to apply technologies in solving business problems.

Prior to Ant Group, he was one of the founding members of Jumio APAC where he witnessed the early adoption of identifying proofing in the APAC region. Prior to Jumio, he served as product manager in UL for payment and telecom functional test software. He has extensive knowledge in payment systems, regulatory and risk technologies.
