At Connected China, the country’s technological prowess and leadership in Mobile IoT is taking centre stage. Twelve innovative developers, start-ups and companies are showcasing their products and solutions using Mobile IoT technologies.

Mobile IoT is the official 3GPP industry standard for low power wide area (LPWA) technologies in licensed spectrum, specifically LTE-M and NB-IoT. These technologies are designed for IoT applications that are low cost, use low data rates, require long battery lives and often operate in remote and hard to reach locations.

 

Focusing on six key vertical applications for Mobile IoT – industrial IoT, logistics, smart agriculture, fire safety, smart city and smart home – the demos include:

INDUSTRIAL IoT

China Unicom, Linkor InfoTech, WanXiang Research Institute Intelligent Production Workflow Monitoring and Analysis
This live demo shows an NB-IoT powered Industry 4.0 solution that monitors the production process of automotive parts to ensure traceability quality control and efficient production by industrial machines for the whole workflow. The real-time monitoring of machines is combined with historical data to enable predictive maintenance and early detection of equipment failure. The collected data, including status data on processing, cooling and lubrication, power and speed of the main shaft, voltage, temperature and humidity, is sent to a central edge cloud for further processing, analysis, classification, anonymization and encryption. NB-IoT provides high reliability for network connectivity and prevents data congestion, making it the preferred choice for industrial solutions.
Polysense (Beijing) Technologies, China Unicom Universal Sensing Solution with Distributed Data Analytics for Industrial IoT
This LTE-M and NB-IoT-powered sensing solutions with distributed data analytics enables companies to collect and analysis a vast variety of data, including temperature, humidity, light, atmosphere pressure, PIR, inclination, location, accelerometer, and 18 types of gases, such as flammable, explosive, poisonous, and pollutant. The solutions have numerous IoT use cases, including machine condition monitoring for preventive maintenance, asset protection, fire and gas monitoring, infrastructure safety monitoring, and gas sensing for heightened safety. By monitoring the presence and density of potentially harmful gases, advance warnings when gases reach dangerous thresholds enable companies and governments to anticipate risk early, avoiding major incidents and ensuring the health and safety of workers and citizens.

 

SMART AGRICULTURE

China Mobile, Shenzhen JIMI IoT MoMo, the Connected Yak
This ‘Intelligent Pasture’ solution demonstrates how NB-IoT is leveraged to manage grasslands and improve the health of yaks in rural China. The NB-IoT smart collar collects data on body temperature and movement throughout the whole lifecycle of the yak. Using big data analytics, this allows companies and the government to predict whether the animals are healthy, prevent inbreeding, and research which factors may have an impact on the growth speed of yaks. The data is also used to understand grazing behaviour to help solve the problem of overgrazing and controlling desertification of grass- and farmlands.
NB-IoT is specifically designed to bring secure connectivity to millions of devices spread over large geographic, and often remote areas, while minimising power consumption. This makes NB-IoT the technology of choice for improved and monitoring of anything.
Nietzsche Enterprise (NHR) NB-IoT Agriculture Sensors
Using NB-IoT sensors to collect a wide variety of data, this intelligent agriculture solution modernises the traditional greenhouse, improving the health of crops and plants, and ultimately increasing yield and productivity of farmers. All data is sent to the SentrolCloud platform allowing for heatmap data visualisation and AI analytics. The data collected by NB-IoT sensors includes: air quality, temperature, humidity, soil moisture, soil PH, water purity, water PH, water conductivity, CO2, and more.

 

FIRE SAFETY

Zibo Wanan Intelligent Technology, China Mobile Intelligent Fire Protection with IoT
This demonstration highlights how NB-IoT is used to improve fire protection measures and safeguard the lives of citizens. Zibo Wanan Intelligent Technology are showcasing their NB-IoT-based cloud system for monitoring smoke, electrical fires, and fire hydrant pressure. Simulating fires and abnormal data, the company will show how fire alarm parameters, fire hydrant data, incident location, and data on the navigation route for firefighters is utilised to initiate and manage efficient emergency responses.
Alpha Networks Smarter and Safer Firefighting
This 3D firefighter positioning solution will use NB-IoT or LTE-M to track the location of firemen both indoors and outdoors, for example in burning buildings and other dangerous situations, to help fire brigades manage the safe deployment and retreat of their forces. The sensor tracks the position and status of firefighters during their mission, and the Communication Unit (CU) then transmits the data via the NB-IoT or LTE-M network to create 2D/3D images on the server side. Mobile IoT networks provide reliable connectivity in remote locations and deep inside buildings, making them the ideal solution for emergency services.

 

LOGISTICS

Gosafe (Guangzhou), Sierra Wireless Intelligent Fleet Management
This LTE-M driven GPS fleet management solution can be used in a telematics environment and allows companies to manage their fleet in an efficient way, while reducing operational costs and CO2 emissions. Currently using HSPA, the solution is being upgraded to LTE-M, which makes it easier to track and manage fleets, as LTE-M provides companies with extended network coverage, low power consumption for longer battery lives, and low device complexity.
Guangzhou Hive Information Technology, Gizwits Intelligent Freight Tracking
This demonstration highlights how NB-IoT sensor technology is used to monitor and manage the whole warehouse logistics lifecycle, helping enterprises to predict and control risks, raise cargo safety and quality, optimise operational processes, reduce costs, increase profits, and improve customer satisfaction. The low power, low cost NB-IoT sensors record the vehicle route in real-time, and monitor both temperature and humidity in warehouses and during transport. Temperature and humidity monitoring is particularly essential for sensitive commodities, such as cold goods, medicines, or hazardous chemicals, and an alert is triggered if temperature or humidity thresholds are exceeded.

 

SMART HOME

720 (Beijing) Health iTech, China Telecom Clean Air with Smart Air Purifiers
This comprehensive air purification solution relies on NB-IoT and Artificial Intelligence to create a safe, comfortable, reliable and energy-efficient home environment. The NB-IoT-based indoor environmental monitor collects relevant data, including PM2.5, PM10, HCHO, TVOC, temperature, humidity and CO2, which is sent to and analysed in the cloud, using an embedded mathematical model. If air quality is below standard, operation commands are automatically sent to the NB-IoT powered air purifier, which adjusts its fan-speed depending on the severity of the pollution, and eventually powers off once normal levels are restored.
Oviphone Technology NB-IoT Pet Tracker and Wearable Devices
This live demonstration highlights how NB-IoT can be used to reliably track dogs, cats – and any other pets and animals, anywhere and anytime. The pet tracker allows owners to check the location of their pet from their smartphone, tablet or computer, and sends alerts when their pet leaves a geo-fenced area. Utilising NB-IoT provides pet owners with a cost efficient solution that uses low data rates, supports long battery lives and operates in remote and hard to reach locations.

 

SMART CITY

Zheijian Fonda Technology, China Telecom Smart Outdoor Lighting
This NB-IoT-powered solution for smart outdoor lighting helps reduce energy consumption and improve cost savings for cities. Using NB-IoT, the smart lighting controlling system offers a low cost solution with long battery lives and wide area coverage, and provides remote control of the lighting system, power and voltage reading, LED lamp failure detection, and fault reporting. The smart pole also has additional features, such as a weather station, vehicle monitoring, emergency call functionality, and a surveillance system – enhancing safety for citizens and creating a truly smart city.
Zhuhai Shiyuan Photoelectric Technology, China Mobile Smart Manhole Cover
This live demonstration shows how NB-IoT is used for the real-time monitoring of manhole covers to help cities combat illegal access and speedily initiate repairs in case of damages. The NB-IoT sensor measures acceleration of gravity to judge the motion state of the manhole cover, and will wake up from its dormant state if damaged or illegally moved to send an alert to the monitoring centre. Using a large capacity lithium battery, the NB-IoT sensors lasts for over 3 years.

移动物联网是低功耗广域网(LPWA)技术在许可频谱,特别是LTE-M、窄频带-物联网方面的3GPP官方行业标准。这些技术专为物联网应用而设计,成本较低、数据速率低、电池寿命长,经常在偏远及难以到达的地区作业。

工业物联网

中国联通, 领克信息, 万向集团研究院 智能生产过程监控和分析系统
该NB-IoT驱动的工业4.0解决方案监控汽车部件全生产过程,以确保工业机器高效生产并实现可追溯的质量控制,通过DAU设备实现机器设备的运行状态实时监控,结合机器设备历史运行数据,实现设备故障的早期预测性维护,降低设备故障发生率,提高生产率。利用NB-IoT连通性,将采集到的数据发送到中央边缘云进行进一步分析,对冷却、润滑状态、主轴的功率和速度、生产率、电压、温度和湿度等状态数据进行处理、分析、归类、隐藏身份和加密保护。NB-IoT为网络连接提供高可靠性,并防止数据拥塞,使其成为工业解决方案(如机器设备状态监测)的优选选择。
博立信(北京)科技有限公司, 中国联通 基于大数据分析的工业物联网通用传感解决方案
基于分布式数据分析的、由LTE-M和NB-IoT所驱动的传感方案,能够收集和分析大量的各类传感信息,包括温度、湿度、光照、气压、红外感应、倾斜、位置、加速度,以及具有易燃易爆、危险有毒的18种工业气体。这些方案具有各种不同的应用场景,例如,工业4.0预防性机器维护、资产保护、火灾和气体监测、移动物体追踪、基础设施安全监测、城市公用设施监测、智慧城市、结构健康监测、精准农业、环境监测以及高度危险的气体监测。这类信息能够为运营商、政府、企业和居民提供安全预警。例如,通过监测危险气体的泄露和浓度,能够在达到一定阀值时提前发出预警信息,以避免严重事故的发生并确保人员和居民的安全与健康。

 

智慧农业

中国移动四川公司;深圳几米物联有限公司 和牧童
智慧牧场综合解决方案是通过牦牛智能终端设备将牦牛GPS+北斗双星定位数据、牦牛生活的周围环境数据以及牦牛生理指标等一系列数据采集下来,经由NB-IoT网络实时传输到大数据平台进行监控和数据分析。
使用智慧牧场APP,牧民可以随时随地实现放牧管理,牛群定位监控以及牦牛的健康状况查看等。通过智慧牧场大数据平台建立起牦牛档案,方便溯源,生成血缘关系谱,防止近亲繁殖,促进优生优育。同时运用大数据分析可研究影响牦牛的生长速度的因素,还可实现草场管控,以帮助解决过度放牧而导致的草长退化问题。
NB-IoT以其低功耗,高穿透的特点,非常适用于在大型地理区域(通常是偏远地区)为设备提供安全连接,这使NB-IoT成为管理和监控事物的首选技术,而智慧牧场正是NB-IoT网络技术运用的典范。
尼采實業 NB-IoT 農業用感測器
使用NB-IoT 技術蒐集農業數據,例如空氣溫度,濕度,土壤濕度,水中酸鹼度,光照度,PAR,植物重量…等。透過SentrolCloud 農業雲端管理平台作可視化熱地圖分析,引入人工智慧,進而提高產量且提升品質。

 

消防安全

淄博万鞍智能科技有限公司, 中国移动 消防的物联网感知
这个演示展示了NB-IoT是如何用来改进消防措施和保障人民的生活。淄博万鞍智能科技有限公司正展示其基于NB-IoT的消防云系统及配套终端设备,用于监测烟雾、电气火灾和消火栓压力。模拟火灾和异常数据,该公司将展示消防警报参数、消火栓数据、事故地点和消防员的导航路线上的数据如何用于启动和管理高效的应急响应。
明泰科技 智能化消防定位系統
3D消防员定位解决方案使用NB-IoT 或LTE-M来追踪室内和室外的消防员的位置,例如在建筑物和其他危险情况下,帮助消防队管理其部队的安全部署和撤退。 传感器追踪消防员在任务期间的位置和状态,然后通信单元(CU)通过NB-IoT或LTE-M网络传输数据,以在服务器端创建2D / 3D图像。 移动物联网在偏远地区和深层建筑内提供可靠的连接,使其成为紧急服务的理想解决方案。

该LTE-M GPS车队管理解决方案可用于远程信息处理,让公司高效低碳管理车队并降低运营成本。该解决方案目前正在使用HSPA网络,现正升级为LTE-M网络。这使得跟踪和管理车队变得更加容易: 因为LTE-M扩展了网络覆盖范围,降低了功耗以延长电池寿命以及提高了设备的易用性
广州氦弗信息科技有限公司, 广州机智云物联网科技有限公司(简称机智云) 智能货运跟踪
此演示着重介绍NB-IoT传感器技术如何用于监控和管理整个仓储物流生命周期,帮助企业预测和控制风险,提高货物安全和质量,优化作业流程,降低成本,扩大收益并提高客户满意度。低功耗,低成本的NB-IoT传感器实时记录车辆路线,并监控仓库和运输过程中的温度和湿度。温度和湿度监测对于敏感商品尤其重要,例如冷藏品,药品或危险化学品,如果超过温度或湿度阈值,则会触发警报。

 

智能家居

柒贰零(北京)健康科技有限公司, 中国电信 会思考的洁净空气
720智能空气净化解决方案利用NB-IoT和AI技术,提供了一个安全、舒适、省心、节能的洁净家居环境。室内环境监测产品(720环境宝)采集8项关键环境指标(温度、湿度、PM2.5、PM10、甲醛、TVOC、二氧化碳和噪声),全部数据通过NB-IoT上传至云端,云端根据相应数学模型对环境数据进行分析和处理,如果环境数据指标有害,云端会通过NB-IoT自动下发指令启动720净化器同时匹配最优风量,并根据随后环境宝反馈的环境指标污染等级不断下发指令调整风量以保持最优的净化能耗比,直至指标完全洁净后关闭净化器。
欧孚通信 NB-IoT宠物追踪器和可穿戴设备
此次现场演示重点介绍了NB-IoT如何用于随时随地可靠地跟踪狗,猫以及其他宠物和动物。 宠物跟踪器允许主人通过智能手机,平板电脑或电脑查找宠物的位置,并在宠物离开设定的电子围栏区域时发送警报。 NB-IoT为用户提供了一种低成本的解决方案;NB-IoT技术具有低数据速率,更长电池使用时间,广覆盖等优势。

 

智慧城市

浙江方大智控科技有限公司, 中国电信 智慧灯杆
NBIoT具有低功耗、低成本、广覆盖、大容量、高稳定性的特点,基于NBIoT的户外智慧照明控制解决方案有助于降低能源消耗和提高城市的管理成本,具有对照明系统远程控制的功能,如电流、电压等的远程读取,灯具故障检测和故障信息自动上报等。智慧灯杆还具有环境信息采集、安防及道路智慧监控、信息发布、应急可视报警、电动汽车充电桩等多种功能,实现城市的智慧管理。
珠海市世源光电科技有限公司, 中国移动 智能井盖监控器
基于NB-IoT的井盖监控器主要功能是实时监控井盖状态,当井盖受损或被盗时能通知相关部门及时修复。这款监控器通过重力加速度传感技术来判断井盖的状态,当井盖被非法移动或是意外破损,井盖监控器将从休眠状态中唤醒,通过NB-IoT网络向监控后台报警。监控器配备工业级大容量锂电池,可以保证监控器有效工作3年以上。
