Featured Speakers:

Jens Olejak
NB-IoT Product Lead, T-Systems International Digital Division
Deutsche Telekom

Jens has been working as M2M/IoT product manager since 2013, focusing on NB-IoT since 2016. He joined Deutsche Telekom in 2005 as part of the Corporate Technology Strategy department, which was managing the company’s NGN transformation program (NG Factory), before becoming a design manager contributing to the setup of the new Product Design unit. Before his time at DT he worked for eight years at the Communications & HighTech strategy consulting unit of Accenture.

Martin Buch
NB-IoT Expert, T-Systems International Digital Division
Deutsche Telekom

Martin, NB-IoT expert at T-Systems International Digital Division, started working on the topic NB-IoT early 2016, when the first NB-IoT equipment was available for Deutsche Telekom (DT). For DT’s initiative “NB-IoT Prototyping Hub”, where roughly 20 partners implemented first use cases with NB-IoT, his team developed a prototyping environment for early partners and an application layer on NB-IoT for the fast integration of DT’s IoT Suite Cloud of Things.

Miguel Rodriguez
IoT TAM Terminal Integration & Validation, International Delivery Unit
Deutsche Telekom

Miguel has worked at various market-leading companies in the mobile telecommunications industry, including Ericsson, Nokia and Microsoft. Miguel joined DT’s Terminal Integration & Validation Department in 2016, driving the development of its IoT validation services and strategy. Miguel is leading DT’s IoT Chipset & Module certification activities as well as collaborating with stakeholders across the company and industry to build new LPWA-focused validation & tools services.

Kolja Vornholt
NB-IoT Expert/Developer IoT, T-Systems International Digital Division
Deutsche Telekom

While studying Electrical Engineering at RWTH Aachen, Kolja gained vast experience in prototyping, especially within international research projects. After graduating in 2016, Kolja joined Deutsche Telekom’s graduate programme and worked on both IT and Network-Infrastructure projects. Since late 2017 he is working on NB-IoT projects, including technical customer support and software development for IoT devices.

*What is NB-IoT?

NB-IoT (Narrowband-Internet of Things) is one of two official 3GPP industry standards for secure Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) technologies in licensed spectrum – also known as Mobile IoT.

Mobile IoT networks are designed for Internet of Things (IoT) applications that are low cost, use low data rates, require battery lives measured in years, and often operate in remote and hard to reach locations, such as underground or deep inside buildings.

With over 40 commercial network deployments around the world, Mobile IoT presents a huge opportunity for a number of vertical industries. GSMA Intelligence estimates that by 2025, there will be 1.9bn cellular licensed LPWA IoT connections – more than half of all LPWA connections.
