Connected Living at European Utility Week

The utility industry is learning to move at a faster pace, connect with consumers, and learn to include innovative solutions into their business models. To ensure a smooth and collaborative transformation, utilities also need to have the right infrastructure in place to connect in a timely and cost effective manner. European Utility Week facilitate the necessary collaborative process and encourage utilities, developers, regulators, startups, and other ecosystem players to come together to reduce the complexities of the industry and drive the industry forward.

Connected Living will be taking part in three sessions to explore the importance of the Internet of Things and how connected solutions can accelerate the growth and progression of the utility sector.

On Wednesday, 16 November, 10:10 – 10:30 am, Alistair Wright, Utilities Lead, GSMA, will elaborate on the potential of Smart Water Management and will draw on a number of case studies and insights to highlight the role of mobile network operators and Mobile IoT technologies.

On Wednesday, 16 November, 11:00 – 11:20 am, Neill Young, Smart Cities Lead, GSMA, will explore how embedded SIMs will simplify the process of connecting smart meters to mobile networks and how mobile connections can be managed remotely using a standard mechanism.

On Wednesday, 16 November, 11:40 am – 12:30 pm, Alistair Wright, Utilities Lead, GSMA, will take part in the panel debate on ‘Smart Water and Energy’ and will discuss why the IoT and mobile operators’ experience and assets are crucial for the industry.
