GSMA IoT at GSMA Innovation City – MWC19
The GSMA Innovation City is the mobile industry’s crowning technological showcase. At this year’s Mobile World Congress, the Innovation City will return, exhibiting the latest and upcoming product offerings from the wider ecosystem. The centerpiece will be the fusion of 5G, AI and Mobile IoT which, collectively, form the basis of Intelligent Connectivity; a harmonisation of technologies designed to accelerate technological development and generate maximum value and well-being from the incipient digital revolution.

Intelligent Water in Toronto Generate the power behind an intelligently connected city pipeline in Toronto. Delegates and media are invited to see how much power they can generate by rowing to increase the pressure inside a fully visible smart pipeline. Live Mobile IoT connected sensors in the pipework demonstrate how future smart cities, like Toronto, can better manage their water supplies for improved future sustainability. Live data will be collected through the Orange network then collated and analysed by an AI powered smart platform for performance optimisation. |
Hanson Robotics | Intelligent Protocol Droid – Humanoid Showcase – Sophia By enabling real-time human-to-machine and machine-to-machine interactions through high-speed, low-latency 5G network connections, humans and machines will be able to interact with their environments using touch and visual feedback. IoT-integrated edge computing, with AI and machine-learning algorithms, will allow condition-based maintenance of parts such as car engines and manufacturing robots; machines can also log themselves in for automatically administered maintenance. |

Connected Honeybees: The Live Hive Preserving bees means protecting our food supply. With honey bees dying at higher rates, smart agriculture using LTE-M is one of the solutions in preserving this important species. NimbeLink and Orange were in the process of automating the data analysis and applied a solution where they could use APIs to automatically bring sensor data into their internal database. Data collected through sensors connected to bee hives include bee hive health, humidity, location (GPS), anti-theft with accelerometer and temperature for preserving the live stock of bees. |

Singtel | Unplug and play – Keep chilled with Singtel’s network-first IoT and its open and intelligent IoT ecosystem From connecting people to connecting things, the network is the foundation for everything IoT, But the true value of IoT lies in the ability of businesses to transform traditional, everyday operations and to create new business models. For this to happen, the network must be open, intelligent and programmable for IoT applications. Through a smart cold chain monitoring demonstration, the immense value and benefits of an open, intelligent IoT ecosystem – by removing the barriers to adoption – are clear. Discover how AI-based, network-driven intelligent management will enable a more operationally-efficient and cost-effective cold chain. |
