With nearly 20 years of experience in wireless communications research and development management, product planning and market development, Dr. Guan Bao has worked at Bell, Xenon Technologies and Intel in Shanghai, and is currently responsible for market development and product planning for Hytera’s global 4G and 5G businesses. Dr. Guan Bao has a deep understanding of 4G, 5G related technologies and products, has extensive experience in the operator market and industry market, and is committed to promoting division of labour and collaboration under an open framework to build a broader ecosystem through innovative cooperation models.

Dr Lee Rong

CMO, AI-Link

Dr. Rong has more than 15 years of experiences in the field of telecommunication with particular focuses on mobile technologies, as well as more than 5 years experiences in Industrial IoT (IIoT). More specifically, he has been deeply involved in 4G (LTE), 5G and Cellular IoT (i.e., NB-IoT) from early research and standardization until the later ecosystem building, strategy and deployment of these technologies. Since 2012 he has been involved in 5G, first with DoCoMo and then Softbank during his various customer engagement roles at Ericsson Japan.

In his last role at Ericsson China (2015-2017), he was responsible for the overall 5G and IoT cooperation with China Mobile, the largest operator in the world. During the time, he successfully led several “world’s first” engagement with China Mobile on 5G and IoT, including launching the “world’s first cellular based connected factory” initiative with China Mobile and Intel in Nanjing, China. From 2017-2020, he worked as the CMO of Foxconn 5G IIoT research center driving the overall market development of 5G+IIoT within Foxconn. Since August 2020, he has been working as CMO in AI-Link, a technology company focusing on the deployment of 5G + Edge Computing for vertical industries. Most recently in Nov 2020 he has been awarded the title of “Industrial Internet Expert” by the Guang Dong provincial government in China.

Kai Li

Mr Li is currently the Vice President and General Manager of Solutions for H3C, responsible for solution planning, development and strategy.

Mr Li has over 20 years of industry experience in IT and telecommunications. Prior to joining H3C, Mr Li worked in HP China Ltd as Vice President and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) as the Vice Dean of Computer Science Department. He is currently a visiting professor at BUPT.

Pengfei Sun

Pengfei Sun, the Head of 5G-2B Solutions Department of Huawei ICT Strategy Marketing and Solutions Department. With more than 20 years of experience in the ICT field, he has deep accumulation in the wireless communications field. He has served as the technical director of Huawei’s wireless product line OSS, and the CTO of the wireless network SingleOSS product management department. He is currently responsible for 5GtoB solutions in the Huawei ICT Strategy Marketing and Solutions Department Program innovation and expansion work. Long-term research on future-oriented 5GtoB solutions, a deep understanding of the relationship between 5G, cloud and industry applications, and unique insights into the current development status and future development trends of 5GtoB.

Thomas Noren

Head of Dedicated Networks, Ericsson

Thomas Noren is Head of Dedicated Networks business at Ericsson. Dedicated Networks leverages Ericsson’s product and service portfolios to modernize private communication systems or drive enterprise digitalization with 4G and 5G. Dedicated Networks support Operators and their channel partners to serve enterprises in Manufacturing, Mining, Oil & Gas, Transport, Utilities and other industries.

Throughout his career Thomas has worked with leading-edge technologies. Most recently he led Global 5G Commercialization for Ericsson. He is credited for leading Ericsson’s global success with 4G/LTE and for initiating and introducing the Ericsson Radio System — Ericsson’s modular and highly efficient hardware platform for radio networks that was designed to be 5G prepared from start. Thomas also introduced NB-IoT and the DOT.

Thomas joined Ericsson in 1997 and has held executive positions in product management, R&D, and sales. Prior to joining Ericsson, he was a consultant at McKinsey & Company.
Thomas has an M.Sc. in Engineering Physics from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden and an MBA from INSEAD in France. He has lived and worked in France, Japan, and the US.

Aruna Srinivasan is the Executive Director of IoT Capabilities at the GSMA. Ms. Srinivasan directs the IoT Big Data, Edge Computing and 5G IoT Manufacturing initiatives, working with mobile operators and ecosystem partners to develop new technology enablers and drive market adoption. Ms. Srinivasan has over 18 years of strategy, technology and programme delivery experience with the GSMA, Third Horizon Consulting, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Australia Gas Lighting and Arthur Andersen Consulting. She holds Bachelor of Software Engineering and Master of Commerce degrees from the University of New South Wales, Australia.

Kevin Pang

Head of Strategic Engagement, Greater China, GSMA

Kevin Pang has joined GSMA since Feb 2016. In this role, Kevin is responsible for developing regional strategy and managing impactful local industry executive relationships in China.

He is also promoting GSMA 5G/IoT/eSIM/Climate Change programme regionally.

Prior to the GSMA, Kevin held position of Head of Marketing at Nokia Networks Greater China.

He has 20 years of experience of management in telecom industry with proven track record in driving business strategy, product strategy and marketing campaign. He served in several technology, services, sales and marketing positions in Nokia Networks and Ericsson before.

Kevin received an MBA in Guanghua School of Management from Peking University.

Transforming Automotive and Mobility with 5G

More than 500 million connected cars will be on the road by 2025 and connected vehicle services will be worth US$ 81 billion by 2030, making the connected vehicle market one of the highest growth areas in the IoT. Maxime was working previously as Head of Department for Connected & Automated Driving (CAD) at ERTICO – ITS Europe. Maxime holds a PhD and MSc from Chalmers Technical University, Sweden and an “Ingénieur Civil” degree from the Free university of Brussels. Andy Zhou

Andy’s experience spans the full breadth of technology and application services with the focus in the automotive, retails, general manufacturing and consumer products industries. Andy is specialized in the areas of business process definition, solution architecture, and system integration and application implementation. He has provided services to more than 20 automotive/retail clients in China, and worked with numerous global clients on the successful implementation of IT and change management in China.

Prior to join Deloitte, Andy was General Manager at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, responsible for Automotive Ecosystem and Director of Global Delivery China center. Daniel Liu

IoT Program Director, Ericsson

Program Director of Ericsson Connected Vehicle Technology and Emerging Business Area in China, Technology Expert of Connected Vehicle, Member of RPH of Ericsson Global Youth Program, Distinguished Expert of China Mobile Internet of Things Company. Responsible for the development of automotive business and project development and delivery in China, focusing on the cooperation and promotion of solutions in the fields of Connected Vehicles, V2X, remote driving and autonomous driving. He also has in-depth knowledge in communication technology, telecommunications management, location services, multimedia and other fields.

Fanni Li

Senior Research Analyst, China Automotive Supply Chain & Technology Forecasts, IHS Markit

Fanni Li is Senior Research Analyst focused on Connect Car and related technology at IHS Markit. Her responsibilities include research and analysis of infotainment, telematics, acoustics and connected services in China market within the global automotive industry; OEM strategy and supplier relationships; and overall market trends and insights in China and globally.
Fanni Li has more than 7 years working experience in automotive industry with engineering background. Prior to joining IHS Markit, she worked for global OEM PSA Group Technical Center in China for several years focusing on project management and product development of infotainment products.
Fanni Li holds a Master of Engineering in Mechatronic System from University of Technology of Compiegne in France, along with an MBA from University of Canberra.

Li Yan

Senior Director of Technical Standards, Qualcomm

Li Yan is Senior Director Technical Standards in Qualcomm Technologies.  Li Yan has been leading Qualcomm China Standard team and responsible for standardization works in China since he joined Qualcomm in 2002. He is well connected with China mobile operators, wireless communication standard body, wireless industry and academy, and has deep understanding on China wireless communication status quo, regulation and policy. Li Yan was the technical lead of CMCC engineering team in Qualcomm in 2011-2013. He led the team to support CMCC LTE TDD service launch and promote first LTE multi-mode smartphones rolling out in CMCC market. Li Yan represents Qualcomm in FuTURE Forum board, and is the chair of FuTURE Forum and TIAA Internet of Vehicle Joint Working Group.

Li Yan graduated from National Mobile Communication Research Lab of Southeast University and received Ph.D degree of Communication and Information system in 1998. Prior to joining Qualcomm, he served as standard engineer in Nokia (China) R&D Center, and a director for Datang Group (CATT). He led the development of IS-95 and cdma2000 commercial system from 1999 to 2002. In this period, Yan was awarded Outstanding Contributor in National Key Project (863) 15 years ceremony for successfully accomplishing cdma2000 BSC project.

Li Yan’s research interests include CDMA mobile communication system, modulation and coding techniques, synchronization techniques and mobile applications. He had published more than 10 papers on key domestic and international publications, and wrote the book “5G and Connected Vehicle”. He also owned 14 granted US patents.

Luke Ibbetson

Head of Group R&D, Vodafone

Luke Ibbetson has been with Vodafone since 1996 and currently leads the Vodafone Group Research and Development organisation, responsible for all aspects of future research including trials of emerging / disruptive technologies, new industry partnerships and the creation of future revenue engines through advanced technology. Luke is an active participant in Industry Initiatives including 5GAA (Board member), Chairman of the NGMN 5G Board Committee, Advisory Board for UK TechWorks, and Board member for several venture backed new technology companies in which Vodafone has invested. Luke is a proud pioneer of Narrow Band IoT technology and currently shaping Vodafone’s thinking on 6G. Tony Hu

Dr. Hu has nearly 20 years of professional experience in e-commerce, business process optimization, information systems planning and implementation consulting and project management. In the ERP era, Dr. Hu has made great achievements in business process optimization, system solution design and system implementation, and ERP project management. He has participated in or led the implementation of more than 20 projects involving multiple industries and fields, such as telecom operation services, import and export trade, non-ferrous metals, construction and design, manufacturing of electronic communication equipment, home decoration and retail, automobile manufacturing and so on. Michael Currie

Founder and CEO, Fling

Michael is one of Southeast Asia’s leading experts in digital transformation in the supply chain and energy industries. He leads Fling, a drone and AI platform providing efficient solutions for warehouses and utilities.

He is a guest lecturer in business at Thammasat University and is an advisor to the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand’s Unmanned Aircraft Working Group. Michael is also a public speaker and aims to cultivate an awareness and understanding of automation technologies through his experience, knowledge and innovative approaches. Furthermore, he is a Director in the Thai-Canadian Chamber of Commerce.

After earning his BMath in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Waterloo in 2007, and his CFA charter, Michael worked as a Software Developer and Business Analyst in the Financial Services industry for over a decade.

Jiin Joo Ong

Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder, Garuda Robotics

Jiin Joo is the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Garuda Robotics, where he currently leads the Regulatory, Product, Cyber and AI Engineering teams. He also served as the Project Director of FutureFlight Consortium of companies including Singtel, to develop Singapore’s first Connected Urban Airspace Management ecosystem for Unmanned Aircrafts. He’s an outspoken supporter of utilising telecommunications infrastructure to enable safe integration or Drones with National Airspace, and is currently helping multiple local governments with drone surveillance, traffic management, and emergency response.

 

Jiin Joo has 20 years of experience in distributed systems, cloud robotics, telco business, and enterprise software engineering. He started his career in Amazon.com, deployed FTTH services in IDA, and ran Singtel’s largest ever 3rd party developer programme. He has a BSc in Computer Science and Economics from Carnegie Mellon University and a MSc in Computer Science from Stanford University.

Xuan Zhu

Chief Engineer of Integrated Solutions, ZTE

Mr. Zhu Xuan has over 15 years’ experience in the strategy research, product planning, and marketing in telecom industry. He has conducted researches in core router, optical transmission, FMC, 5G transport, SDN/NFV, and network automation solutions. Currently he’s dealing with the research in the advanced 5G concerned comprehensive technologies and the applications. He has long been dedicated into the projects helping the global telcos reduce network construction cost and improve the network operation efficiency, thereby push forward network evolution and transformation. Besides, he also has a profound understanding of how 5G can accelerate industry development, enable industry digitalization, and create a blue ocean market.
