Mobile Meetings Series – Innovating in the Internet of Things: Policy and Regulatory Clarity for mHealth in Europe

Start: Thursday 24 April 2014 12:06

End: Thursday 24 April 2014 12:06

Venue: GSMA Brussels

In order to develop the Internet of Things and the global mHealth market, manufacturers need regulatory clarity, as well as technical and commercial flexibility across consistent, reliable platforms, service providers and devices.  This means ensuring policies and regulations are relevant, flexible, balanced, and technology neutral.  It also means creating incentives, particularly in healthcare, to adopt digital technologies that support integration of services for citizens and patients.

This invite-only event will bring together a variety of stakeholders from the EU institutions, industry and civil society to discuss:

–  In what ways is the Internet of Things providing socio-economic benefits across sectors and what does the future hold for M2M communications?

–  What policy developments are necessary to facilitate greater uptake in mHealth within the broader Internet of Things arena?

–  Following the European Commission’s Green Paper on mHealth, what actions will be prioritised moving forward and how must health stakeholders be involved in order to support the development and use of digital technologies in healthcare?
