An Invitation to the Connected Living Seminar at Mobile World Congress 2015

In the run-up to this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC), there has been much discussion about GSMA Innovation City, the virtual cityscape that will exhibit a vast array of the latest machine-to-machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) devices and services from 2nd-5th March.
The demonstration of state-of-the-art M2M and IoT technology makes the Innovation City a truly unique spectacle for visitors, but the wealth of potential M2M and IoT business opportunities it contains are also invaluable. Indeed exhibitions will demonstrate the value and market potential of their products, but for those that want to understand how the seemingly limitless potential of the IoT can be realised, we invite you attend our Connected Living seminar.
The purpose of the GSMA’s Connected Living programme is to accelerate the growth of the IoT through collaboration, appropriate regulation, optimising networks and developing key enablers. Through working with our members, we have gained considerable experience, knowledge and expertise in in this area, and our upcoming seminar sessions ‘The GSMA Embedded SIM Specification’ and ‘Future IoT Networks’, are an invaluable insight into the prominent issues facing device manufactures, vendors and operators.
Our first session explores the GSMA Embedded SIM specification, a single, common and global specification to help grow the M2M market. During this session you will hear from leading ecosystem players on why the specification was chosen and how it has been implemented. There will then follow a panel session that will provide an overview of the needs of the M2M market.
In the ‘Future IoT Networks’ seminar, senior industry experts will review the emerging requirements for IoT and M2M in the automotive and transport markets, as well as the automakers’ and transport operators’ plans to use mobile to support their new services. This seminar will similarly conclude with a panel session that will debate the value-added functionality that can be provided by mobile operators to support the IoT in smart homes and smart cities, for example, management of trust, devices and applications.
We encourage all attendees to engage with us in finding common solutions to stimulate IoT ecosystem and maximising revenue opportunities. Indeed, the view that the IoT can only fulfil its potential through cooperation is becoming increasingly popular, and was echoed by Boo Keun Yoon, chief executive of Samsung, during a keynote speech at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January.
The Connected Living seminar takes place on Wednesday 4th March, between 14:00-18:30 in Seminar Theatre CC1.1. No registration is required.
