Connected Living at the Opening Day of Mobile World Congress 2015

Welcome to the opening day of Mobile World Congress 2015 (MWC). Throughout the week, the Connected Living website will provide you with the latest insights into M2M and IoT events, market trends, programme showcases and highlights of this year’s show.
Throughout MWC we will be showcasing the key projects from our programme that are helping operators to add value and accelerate the delivery of new connected devices and services in the M2M market, all of which will be located in the GSMA Innovation City. Our daily Connection Efficiency Guidelines demo, ‘What’s the buzz’ will explain how these guidelines are essential in creating reliable and secure IoT networks, at the same time, also give any attendees the chance to win a pair of wireless Bose speakers! We are also excited to be demonstrating two live operator profile swaps based on the GSMA Embedded SIM Specification, both of which will take place in an automotive setting and provide a clear understanding of advantages of the remotely provisionable SIM.
Other programme highlights include the unveiling of our interactive Future Networks Roadmap, which will show a set of common capabilities among mobile operators to enable a network that supports value creation for all stakeholders. And a demonstration of the authentication of a non GSM device on a network, set up to underscore how the cooperation between mobile network operators and electrical companies will ensure the security of a smart grid.
Those visiting the Innovation City will also be able to take a virtual tour of the mobile network using Oculus Rift, and see how the IoT is being integrated into sports, with Babolat’s live demonstration of the world’s first connected racquet and Xensr’s connected BMX display.
On Tuesday 3rd March at 14:00 in Conference Hall 4, Auditorium 3, Connected Living will host a session on ‘Realising the Enterprise IoT Opportunity’ and on Thursday 5th March we will host a further two sessions: ‘Everything is Connected: Enabling IoT’, 11:30-13:30 in Conference Hall 4, Auditorium 2, and ‘the Business of IoT’, 14:30-16:00 in the same location.
We also invite everyone at MWC to engage with the GSMA and its partners, and help shape the future of the IoT, by attending our Connected Living seminars ‘GSMA SIM Specification’ and ‘Future IoT Networks’ on Wednesday 4th March from 14:00-18:30. Here we will discuss how to bring greater cooperation, technological advancement and new revenue opportunities to the IoT.
Whether or not you are in attendance of MWC 15, the Connected Living website will be the leading source of developments on M2M and the IoT as they occur, and a unique portal to understanding how the GSMA, its programmes and partners are accelerating the growth of the IoT.
