GSMA urges the mobile and utilities sector to jointly develop smart home business models for the mass market, with market studies and proofs of concept. We want to speed up interoperability which will open the door to achieving large scale more quickly. In parallel we need to stimulate joint regulatory discussions between healthcare, energy and communications regulators, to accelerate the adoption of services such as assisted living and elderly care, and to facilitate the integration of the smart home into the smart grid.
