CLT 2019: Accelerating Digital Transformation in Latin America

The seventh edition of the Latin American Telecommunications Congress – CLT19 – will be held for the first time in Argentina, from July 1 to 5, in the city of Córdoba, hosted by the Modernization Government Secretariat.

March 14, 2019. The seventh edition of the event regarding public policies on ITC and Telecommunications, now consolidated as the annual meeting point for referents from the public and private sectors, academia and international organizations will be held in the Brigadier General Juan Bautista Bustos Convention Center at the city of Córdoba, Argentina from July 1st to 5th,2019.

The agenda will cover the challenge of digitalization as an opportunity for the region to advance towards progress, going over topics such as developing digital economies, public policies to drive innovation and competition in the era of media convergence, the new mechanisms for investing in broadband infrastructures, public-private cooperation to achieve sustainable models in the digital industry, exploring regional initiatives to reduce the gender gap in the technological environment, and others topics.

In addition to the Plenary Session, various parallel activities will be carried out, such as the annual academic CPRLATAM meeting, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) forum on ‘Managing the spectrum en route to the World Radiocommunication Conference 2019,’ a Discussion Panel with member countries of COMTELCA or a workshop organized by Regulatel and ASIET: ‘5G in sight. Encouraging the deployment of new connectivity networks,’ among others.

The CLT19’s organization is led jointly by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), CAF—Development Bank of Latin America -, the Inter-American Association of Telecommunications Companies (ASIET) and GSMA. The congress, in addition, is supported by the Government of Córdoba and organizations such as COMTELCA, Regulatel, CEPAL-eLAC, ICANN, Internet Society and LACNIC.
