Latin America Investment Summit: San Francisco draws the region’s top startups and investors

The Latin American Investment Summit will be held during the first GSMA Mobile World Congress Americas, at San Francisco’s Moscone Center.

The Latin American entrepreneurial scene will convene in San Francisco for the Latin America Investment Summit, the premier event for the regional digital ecosystem held during the first Mobile World Congress Americas, on from 12 to 14 September 2017 at the Moscone Center. On Tuesday 12 September, top-level startups and venture capital investors from Latin America and Silicon Valley will meet for discussions, aiming to identify areas of collaboration with executives from the region’s mobile ecosystem and representatives from government investment promotion agencies to promote the Latin American digital ecosystem.

“Latin America is a major source of talent, and this talent must be stimulated through investments that are aware of its context and idiosyncrasies so the region can contribute through its diversity, adding value to the increasingly attractive regional digital ecosystem,” said Sebastián Cabello, Head of GSMA Latin America. “Latin America Investment Summit will provide a space in San Francisco for exchange of experiences to learn from the successes and failures of Latin American entrepreneurs, and will be essential for encouraging the networking and the connections among ecosystem players that could produce the region’s next unicorns”.

The summit will include panels and presentations about investors and venture capitalists from the Latin American perspective, the role of the mobile platform as an innovation facilitator, and investment in the local ecosystem. Presentations will be given about success stories and startup and accelerator experiences in Latin America.
