Mobile 360 Series – Latin America to showcase transformational technologies across the region

27 November 2018, Buenos Aires: The GSMA today announced further developments for its Mobile 360 Series – Latin America conference taking place on 4-6 December in Buenos Aires. The three-day event will convene the biggest names in the digital ecosystem to discuss key topics impacting the region such as 5G, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) and mobile video, among others. Executives and officers from ANATEL Brazil, ANTV Colombia, the Secretary of Modernization of Argentina, AT&T, Claro, Enacom, Entel, Ericsson, Facebook, Google, Huawei, Movistar, Nokia, Personal and URSEC Uruguay, among many others, will be part of the roster of speakers.

4YFN is the innovation platform for the MWC events, providing startups with a curated program to get them better connected with the tech community and present their latest solutions. 4YFN will run for the first time at a Mobile 360 Series conference, showcasing the most promising startups from across Latin America that will be making a difference 4 years from now. Latin America’s First Blockchain Phone Call

On 4 December, the first blockchain phone call in the region will take place on the Mobile 360 – Latin America stage. CEO of PundiX, Zac Cheah will demonstrate how the device uses the blockchain technology to decentralise data storage, apps, communication and data, an important step that could impact the way traditional networks and devices place calls.

Argentinean MNOs to Announce Privacy Commitment

Mobile 360 – Latin America will also be the occasion for the local mobile industry to reassert its commitment towards creating a safer and more reliable mobile experience. Claro Argentina, Movistar and Personal will sign a Privacy and Transparency Commitment under the GSMA’s regional We Care campaign. Through this initiative, operators will agree on best practices to provide clear and transparent information regarding the use of personal data to their users.

Economic Opportunities and Societal Impact of AI

On Day 2, technologists and business leaders from Hitachi Consulting, IBM Watson, Microsoft and Red Hat will take part in a session to discuss the advantages of AI innovation, its potential ethical challenges, and the economic outlook for an AI-powered world.
