Online Impersonation is Getting Too Easy

Online Impersonation is Getting Too Easy image

The digital world has enabled so many new products and services, yet that world — and securing our identity in it — is overly dependent on personal data: data about who we are and what we know. With databases being routinely breached, hacked into and stolen, enabling malefactors to impersonate users, we can no longer rely on personal data to confirm our identities online. The longer we continue to rely on personal data alone to establish and verify who we are, the more we risk losing the trust that exists between parties in a relationship — whether that’s a commercial transaction, a community of interest, or the many other ways we now engage online.
