5G & eSIM: Failure Is Not an Option!

This is the motto of German test solutions provider COMPRION for this year’s Mobile World Congress where they are presenting test concepts for 5G and eSIM. These make sure that products, services, and projects using these relatively new technologies experience a successful rocket launch and do not flop.

USIM/USAT Test Solution for 5G
Using their experience from the well-established USIM/USAT test solutions from 2G to 4G (COMPRION SIMfony) that are being used by nearly all test labs and smartphone manufacturers, COMPRION is also developing 5G test specifications as well as tests for the latest network technology. To this end, COMPRION is currently cooperating very closely with leading suppliers of network simulators. At their booth # 6I20, COMPRION will inform about the  5G USIM/USAT test solution that is going to be launched mid-2019.
Test2Match – Independent Test Service for Interoperability of  eSIMs and Profiles
On the MWC, COMPRION will also introduce their new, independent test service “Test2Match“. It tests eSIMs and MNO profiles of different suppliers against each other. “This is extremely important“, explains project manager Dr. Oberhokamp, “because reality has shown that compliance with specifications does not necessarily lead to 100% compatibility. Again and again, there are interoperability issues if MNOs want to supply their customers with new devices (smartphones/smartwatches) that contain eSIMs and eSIM profiles from different suppliers. Occasionally, it leads to devices not being able to register in the network. The new test service guarantees that these problems do not surface when it’s too late because the technology is already being used. The latter would annoy the customers and also the MNOs, and it would lead to nasty finger-pointing.“
About the MWC
