GSMA Selects WIT Software to Provide RCS-e Application

Following an extensive evaluation process, WIT Software, an innovative convergence solutions provider (exhibiting in Hall 2, 2C63 at MWC 2012), has been selected by the GSMA to provide RCS-e (Rich Communication Suite – enhanced) applications for iOS and Android handsets. WIT Software will provide a downloadable RCS-e client for existing iPhone and Android users, through Apple AppStore and Android Market, under a GSMA service agreement available to all prospective service providers.

GSMA Senior Director Graham Trickey commented: “RCS-e is a key opportunity for operators to engage more deeply with their customers, offering a seamless and easy way to enrich their communications. In addition to RCS-e being available embedded in devices, it is vital that an RCS-e client is also available as a downloadable app. WIT Software has delivered a well-crafted and robust app that will play a significant part in enabling the launch of services to customers.”

Commenting on the decision of the GSMA, WIT Software’s CEO Luis Silva said: “This was a complex and challenging selection process, and we are delighted to be partnering with the GSMA. We believe that customers will quickly benefit from the exceptional level of intuitive new services that RCS-e will provide. This is an extraordinary step for us, since it highlights our strengths as a leading provider of advanced solutions that enable operators to maximise their return on investment in IMS infrastructure and 4G networks.”
