Today, MTML launches ‘Chili’ GSM services in Mauritius. Using the latest GSM technology, the Chili service offers greater choice at affordable prices to Mauritians.
MTML has invested around Rs 900 million on the new Chili network and the equipment has been supplied by ZTE Corp, one of the leading Telecom equipment manufacturers in the world. The advanced technology is very environment friendly and allows reduction in electricity consumption of around 60% compared to traditional equipment.
The Chili brand & service is designed around the needs of the customer. The philosophy is to provide Technology that empowers the individual, at affordable costs to the People, and delivered in a way which is fun and caring to suit the Lifestyle of the customers. Chili is proud to present the most attractive Tariff rates on the market, around 25% cheaper on average than the competitors with the added advantage of also having lower International Call rates. Chili will also be the first & only network to actually pay customers for receiving calls!
The Chili network covers the whole island and is EDGE enabled thus providing data rates of up to 384kbps on GPRS.

- up to 3 numbers on other mobile networks and be able to call at very preferential rates.
