MoneYou Selects MACH for Secure mTAN Delivery

MACH provides complete reach across German operators, ensures speed and reliability of message delivery

MACH, the leading provider of hub-based mobile communication solutions, today announces that MoneYou, a subsidiary of banking giant ABN AMRO, has selected its A2P messaging platform to provide second factor authentication via mobile (mTAN) for its online banking customers in Germany. Through MACH’s service, MoneYou will be able to send codes to its clients’ mobile phones in order to verify their identity, a common method for adding an additional layer of security to banking transactions in Germany. By providing a single point of connection to all the operators in Germany, MACH instantly delivers MoneYou with the coverage it needs to service its entire customer base.

Global credit and debit card fraud continues to be a major issue for financial institutions, with nearly a third of people having fallen victim to card fraud over the past five years. Financial organisations such as MoneYou are increasingly looking to authenticate user identity through the use of mTANs in order to reduce card fraud. By selecting MACH for this service, MoneYou can leverage its secure and high-volume carrier-grade mobile messaging platform to reliably and rapidly deliver mTANs to MoneYou’s customers.

Liesbeth Rigter, Business Manager, MoneYou Deutschland, commented: “Any authentication service in the financial world must be as secure as possible and utterly reliable. We were clear that we required a messaging service that would meet our criteria as well as provide a high quality of customer support. MACH came highly recommended to us and we believe they will deliver just the service we require, helping us to further protect our clients’ accounts while providing them with an online banking service built around the flexibility of today’s consumer demands.”

Frank Stöcker, General Manager, Messaging, MACH commented: “Our messaging platform is ideally suited to the financial sector. By providing real-time delivery receipts, controlling the end-to-end delivery of each message and utilising carrier grade infrastructure, we provide customers such as MoneYou with the security and reliability they need to transact sensitive data. Our stringent multi nine SLAs and service ensure that we will continue to meet the expectations of MoneYou and provide them with a truly world class messaging solution.”

MACH simplifies the world of mobile messaging by providing numerous SS7 and direct IP connections covering more than 750 operators in over 200 countries around the world – all through a single point of connection. MACH removes the complexity found in establishing interoperability, interworking and connectivity for mobile messaging transactions, delivering comprehensive solutions across a wide range of sectors. MACH’s mobile messaging solutions are trusted by major global brands including KLM and Microsoft.
