The Wireless Power Consortium has authorized 7Layers to provide official “Qi” testing and certification for products such as mobile phones, Smartphones, wireless chargers etc.
Wireless charging is definitely a more convenient way to charge battery operated devices, than having to look for the right connector and plug, especially when using devices that are heavy on battery consumption or whilst travelling.
However, compatibility is a must if such as wireless power charging system is going to gain market acceptance. For this reason, the
Wireless Power Consortium and its members have developed the Qi standard which is to support interoperability between wireless chargers, mobile phones and other battery driven devices.
Products that have been tested and certified by an independent, authorized test laboratory such as 7Layers may carry the Qi Logo. This is to give consumers assurance that devices with a Qi logo will work with Qi chargers anywhere in the world.
